Chapter 11: Cardiovascular Emergencies
Simulation 2: Integration of Systems

The circulatory and respiratory systems function together to provide essential oxygen to all areas of the body. The respiratory system receives oxygen and the circulatory system distributes it throughout the body. If these systems do not operate in harmony, potentially life-threatening cardiac and respiratory emergencies will develop.

The heart and lungs function together to provide oxygenated blood to the entire body.
